AR Animals
Exhibit Design, Augmented Reality, Environmental Design
Fassen Media designed and developed an augmented reality (AR) experience for the African Pavilion at the Toronto Zoo. The application transformed the exhibit space, placing digital animals within the exhibit and enabling visitor control of the models – to make them run, walk and gorilla chest pound as a few examples.
Additionally, the application introduced a learning component to the animal showcase by providing insightful information about the animals.
Through the administration of an A/B test conducted at the exhibit we measured the impact of the AR experience at the Zoo.
The results indicated that the inclusion of the AR element in the pavilion helped to raise the Net Promoter Score by +90%, improving visitor satisfaction and engagement, and enthusiasm while promoting social virality.
